Prime, paint, and finish paint ready doors
Paint ready doors come primed and ready for paint, in shaker and slab styles. Finish them in any color you choose, and follow the steps below for a finish that lasts.

Best practices
- Do not sand the doors. They come pre-primed and ready to accept paint.
- Before you paint, clean the surface with warm soapy water and dry it well.
- Putty covers small imperfections or joinery. Wipe off the excess and do not sand.
- Any type of paint works, with a brush, roller, or sprayer.
- Check the paint manufacturer's product data sheet for the best way to apply it.
- One coat covers, but you can add more coats if you want.

No. Paint ready doors come pre-primed and ready to accept paint. Sanding is not needed and is not recommended.
