Two ways to tell which cabinets you have
All kitchen cabinets are built one of two ways. Framed is the traditional American style. Frameless is the European style.
Knowing which type you have sets your hinge overlay and the bumper size you need, so it pays to check before you order. There are two easy ways to tell them apart.

A face frame is attached to the front of the cabinet box. The doors and drawers mount to that frame.

No face frame is attached to the cabinet box. The doors and drawers mount straight to the box.

Door hinges attach to the cabinet frame.

Door hinges attach to the cabinet box.
Once you know your cabinet type, the hinge overlay guide and the bumper sizes page help you pick the right parts. Qwikkit kits fit both framed and frameless cabinets, in both DuraBuild™ and DuraFuse™.
A framed cabinet has a wooden face frame attached to the front of the cabinet box. The doors and drawers mount to that frame. Framed cabinets are the traditional American style.
A frameless cabinet has no face frame. The doors and drawers mount straight to the cabinet box. Frameless cabinets are also called European style.
Check two things. First, look at the front of the cabinet box for a wooden frame around the opening. Framed cabinets have one, frameless cabinets do not. Second, open a door and see where the hinge attaches. On framed cabinets the hinge attaches to the frame. On frameless cabinets it attaches to the box.
Yes. Qwikkit refacing kits fit both framed and frameless cabinets. Hinge overlays are offered for both, so your new doors line up right either way.
Your cabinet type sets your hinge overlay and the bumper size you need. Knowing it before you order helps your kit fit the first time.
